the day in london
Cheerio then lovelies!Today we arrived in London and scooted down into the city - popped into the House of Commons to check out a debate amongst the politicos, but alas it was too warm and we were sleepy from our non-sleep on the plane. No Tony in house today. We had a nice walk in the park, jumped off the tube to go a small pub and eavesdrop on people's conversations. We've just checked into our Air Emerates flight to Dubail and then to Nairobi tommorrow night.
Big bad love
Tracy and JD

hi there you guys,
Wow I can´t believe that you are well on your way to the big and beautiful place called Africa. I hope that you have a wonderful, fun filled and generally fullfilling adventure. Rick and I are enjoying Mexico so much, some time we are going to come here and vacation too!! It really is beautiful here and the paddling looks great. Things are finally starting to fall into place now. It`s been a long and tedious process there are like 6 million government offices that you have to go and visit and each one explains the process differently and in Spanish (thank go Rick is pretty good with Spanish), but today we just happened to come across a legal assistant who workd for 5 other companies including 2 Canadian companies- Tofino Expeditions and Grant and Tim from..I forget his last name, that have operations down here and he said he is able to help with the whole process- which will be probably a little expensive but I think very necessary. The layer s of beaurcracy here are a mile high. It has been good though to figure out all the steps and what is involved, so we have an idea too. We also found some more great contacts at the National Parks office and a federal geography depatment that sells all the maps that we have been looking for and for way cheeper then we were able to find them in San Diego- less than half the price. we also may have found a place to live in Thunder Bay- just two doors down from Rick´s good friends and she is not fussed about it only being a 4 month rental and we just got an e-mail from friends in t-bay saying that there may be a TA job for the Outdoor Education course at T-Bay...so I may apply or Rick may...There have been a few ups and downs, but we are getting there. It´s just to bad that we didn´t have more time to just paddle or lie on the beach. Did you guys hear anything about the women who died kayaking in the sea of cortez, from Calgary in the news?? We are going to start heading north again in a few days. We will probably drive from here (La Paz) to Lorreto Tommorow and then after one day there straight north..only stopping for Tacos!! I must admit that the food has been awesome- we have been adventourous and have been eating at little street vendors and so far my belly has been aggreeing amazingly!! But then last night Rick and I decided to go and check out one of the seafood restaurants in town- so we can make reccomendations to guests...it was the most expensive place we have eaten yet apx $25us for the two of us and we were both running for bathroom this morning, but things have improved alot since then.. We even ate tequllia and almond flavoured ice cream today...I think that I will probably become a vegetarian when I get home as there is meat, meat and meat tooped with meat here- get the salad with Kale and lots of green veggies ready Canada, here I come! We found a cool little veggie restaurnat today for lunch..I can tell my body is saying thank you right now. Rick just found out he got a job as a TA for animal biology- which will take off some of the financial pressures for him. I still haven´t heard anything about the T-Bay school board..but hopefully soon. Well take care of yourselves and say hello to africa for Rick and I. Ps the Blog is awesome! Bre and Rick
